After a tense period of negotiations on Starbase Phoenix, the crew of the DFA John Murphy has returned home, along with the crew of the DFA Cromwell. The handover of the Cromwell went smoothly, with only minor bumps along the path to peaceful co-existence with Starfleet.
The Dakkus Shipyards has just held the christening ceremony for the Cromwell B, a Heimdall Class Cruiser which, when commissioned after it’s space-trials this month, will become the flagship of the DFA fleet. They’ll be a formidable presence in the quadrant under their new leader, Commander Lessa Anara.
The DFA has installed Vice-Admiral Tony Dark as the head of the Delta Freedom Alliance Fleet, and the recently promoted Rear-Admiral Dan Forrest has been rumored to be the new DFA Liaison to Governor Bateman.
Also in the news, the Governor’s office has named Samantha Carter, formerly of the Cromwell’s crew, to a post as Chief of Staff for the Governor. With this addition, the Governor’s staff is beginning to fill out nicely.
Engie continues to develop our website, http://tf21.sciflight.com, so feel free to check it out. We have fleshed out military and political aspects of the DFA, and will begin making that content available soon. We also moved off the Horizon server due to popular demand, although we will continue to monitor it for anti-Devu activity on the part of their evil leader, Captain Marney Robinson. The DevuGov server is open and available at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/DevuGov if anyone is interested. We’ll be petitioning for regular DS status in the coming months.
While Starfleet messes around with elections, we’ve already selected our Admiralty. Vice-Admiral Tony Dark, along with Rear-Admiral Dan Forrest, will handle the Admiral functions, assisted by Governor Bateman for Devu-related crossover issues.
The Devu server went active on the 20th, so there are only 25 posts on it, but we’ve had many more come through this month. We’ve had strong posting, if a little less steady than I’d like to see. Once the Cromwell sets out on their own, we’ll be able to develop a rhythm of our own and know what to regularly expect. I’m still happy with the performance of the DS so far, and I can’t wait to see the great writing that comes out of us this next month as characters settle into regular jobs. I know Steve has already posted some fantastic stuff, and I can’t wait to work with him.
